My Advertising Policy

I have created my site with no external sponsors. I have included some hyperlinks to vendors (such as Barnes & Noble Boodstore) where you can order books, tapes, and other materials I think are helpful. That is explained in more detail:

In order to be able to provide you with continually updated, high-quality information in a lively and effective manner at no cost to you, I allow some advertising on my site. I am very careful about allowing advertising and very particular about the type of ads and how many ads are on my site. You will always be able to distinguish between editorial content and advertising and I do not have any pop-ups or banner advertising at all on this site.

My advertising & editorial policy is pretty simple as follows:

Clicking On Advertisements:

If orders are placed from my web site for books or tapes, etc., I receive a small commission. (Very small!) Be aware that I have no control over the practices of other Web sites, but I do have control over who I allow on my web site and I am only interested in reputable sources and things I feel are helpful.

Editorial Independence:

I maintain absolute editorial independence and sponsors have no editorial input or influence on the information itself.

Types Of Advertisements Not Accepted:

I will not accept advertising that, in my opinion, is not factually accurate and in good taste. I will not permit at any time any advertising for illegal or objectionable products. Advertising must not contain fraudulent, deceptive, or offensive material, including material that misrepresents, ridicules, or attacks an individual or group on the basis of age, color, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or handicap.

I will not accept advertising that, in my opinion, is related to any of the following: alcohol, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, gambling, pornography, tobacco, or illegal activity of any nature.

Confidentiality:

I will not provide or sell any information to a third party that would allow it to identify a person's individual medical circumstances or conditions. I don't sell names for mailing lists, I do not practice or tolerate spam, and I respect the confidentiality of your identity as my own.

I don't allow advertising unless I have first-hand knowledge of the book, tape, or service offered. I only allow advertising for things I would use myself and feel are helpful, useful, and safe.
